The City of Roseburg held a Community Open House concerning the Pine Street Waterfront Zoning Overlay project. A zoning overlay is a special set of development standards applied to a specific area. This was the second and FINAL community meeting to be scheduled. The proposed Zoning Overlay affects the Pine Street “Alley” Commercial Waterfront properties. The City and its consultant, Urbsworks, will be soliciting additional comments from the public through this public forum to further the objective of creating new development regulations that preserve the Pine Street Waterfront’s unique historic, waterfront, and pedestrian-friendly characteristics and address development standards to enable redevelopment of this area as a commercial connection between Roseburg’s Historic Downtown, the parks system multi-use path, Highway 138, and the South Umpqua River Waterfront.
